The Parish of Stillington and Whitton is situated in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees in North East England, a rural community with a population for the two villages of approximately 1200 people.
Stillington is an active community which has a large number of local sevices including a C of E Church, Primary School, Surgery/Health Centre, Shop/Post Office, Hairdressers, Take-away, Garage, Pub, Workingman's Club, Youth & Community Centre, Allotments, two local Bus Services, Forest Nature Park, Business Units and a small Industrial Estate.
With approx. 450 dwellings, housing is very evenly varied and in all sizes built from 1870's to 2008
Whitton is a quiet Hamlet within a mile east of Stillington with 36 mostly larger dwellings and situated next to Honeypot Woods
In 2006 the communities of Stillington & Whitton were very proud to win the
Calor Tees Valley Building Community Life Award also Village of the Year Award
and in 2007, were the winners of
Calor Northern England Business in the Community Award
In the 2008 ‘Planning the Future of Rural Villages in Stockton-on-Tees ’ Document , Stillington was the only village to 'tick all the boxes' in the Borough and achieve Tier 1 Status on Sustainability.
